The country is one of the global leaders in business process outsourcing (BPO). But while the BPO industry has cemented itself as a major contributor to our national economy, the country's bustling startup scene is experiencing strong growth and transformation — thanks to our populace of English-speaking Filipino talents, even foreigners (and expats) are getting in on the action.
And I had the opportunity to join in and work with the organizers!
For the entire week, 30 programs were hosted all over the business districts of the metro. From navigating the startup ecosystem in the country to angel investing 101, to crowdsourcing, to digital marketing, every attendee, like myself, has learned something incredible from keynote speakers and guests.
Nothing proves this fact better than Manila Startup Week, the first-ever startup event in the Philippines celebrating entrepreneurship and homegrown startups.
On this 5-day gathering, I saw entrepreneurs and aspiring founders (and even students) meet, share knowledge, inspire, empower, network, and collaborate.
